A warm welcome
Water, fresh fruit and a small bottle of raki will be waiting for you on arrival.
Comfort
Wifi, bed linen and towels are provided. Please use bottled water for the coffee machine.
Village peace
Smoking is permitted outside. Parties and loud music are not allowed; please observe quiet hours from 15:00–17:00 and after 23:00.
Practical
Place toilet paper in the bin beside the toilet. Outdoor lights can be operated by the gate and front door.

Why we chose Mochos
We are Stephan and Monique. In March 2026, we exchanged Maarssen for Mochos, an authentic mountain village on beautiful Crete.
Crete had felt familiar to us for a long time. We spent many holidays here and travelled extensively around the island. Along the way, we dreamed of buying a little house here one day and enjoying our retirement. But at some point we asked ourselves: why wait to enjoy life?
We decided to make our dream come true sooner. Our original plan was to rent a home first and then take our time looking for a place of our own. One thing was certain: our future home needed separate guest accommodation, so family and friends could stay with us while everyone retained their own space and privacy.
In September 2025, everything suddenly gathered pace. We fell in love with a house in Mochos, made an offer and it was accepted. Months of arranging, planning and renovating followed. Not every detail of our own home is finished yet, but everything that truly matters has been thoroughly taken care of, exactly as we wanted.
On the ground floor was a beautiful self-contained space. With great care and love, we transformed it into Lilly’s Escape: a comfortable holiday apartment with its own entrance and garden, where our guests can enjoy a peaceful stay.
With Lilly’s Escape, we want others to discover the Crete we love: welcoming, relaxed, authentic and full of beautiful places. We are happy to share our personal tips and hope you will feel not only welcome here, but also a little at home.
