Sisi and Milatos
Sisi has a small natural harbour lined with waterside terraces. It is a pleasant stop for coffee or lunch and generally feels calmer than the larger resorts.
Milatos combines a village, coastline and nearby cave. The cave approach is rocky, so suitable shoes and a light are recommended if you plan to visit.
Selinari and Malia Old Town
Agios Georgios Monastery in Selinari Gorge is a familiar stop on the old road. Dress appropriately for a monastery and respect any visitor guidance.
Malia Old Town has narrow lanes, churches and tavernas, showing a side of Malia that feels completely different from its coastal nightlife area.
Finish at Potamos Beach
Potamos Beach lies near the Minoan palace site at Malia and works well as a final stop for swimming or a walk beside the sea.
The route is easy to shorten: choose Sisi and Milatos for half a day, or combine Malia Old Town with Potamos Beach.
