Walking from the village
Old connecting paths, rural lanes and tracks through olive groves surround Mochos. Some sections are straightforward, while others are rougher or less clearly marked.
Ask Stephan and Monique about recent local experience. Maintenance, vegetation and ground conditions can change with the season.
Towards Skagiado, Stalis and the mountains
Even shorter walks provide views over the village and north coast. Longer outings head towards small settlements, descend towards the coast or climb further into the hills.
Choose a distance that suits the temperature, your fitness and available daylight. A route that feels comfortable in spring can be demanding in August.
Walk safely and comfortably
Wear shoes with grip and carry more water than you expect to need. Sun protection and a charged phone are important; consider downloading a map for offline use.
Set out early in hot weather, avoid the strongest midday heat and turn back if a path becomes unsafe or unclear. Respect gates, livestock, private land and the quiet around chapels.
